Hot melt adhesive for furniture is a type of adhesive specially used for sticking artificial boards. It is an environmentally friendly, solvent-free thermoplastic adhesive. When hot melt adhesive is heated to a certain temperature, it changes from solid to molten state. When applied to the surface of artificial board substrate or edge banding material, it cools and becomes solid, bonding the material to the substrate. Since the late 1970s, hot melt adhesive has entered the wood industry for edge banding, plywood core, board splicing, furniture tenon joints, etc. Early hot melt adhesive equipment mainly relied on equipment from the United States, West Germany, Italy and other countries. With the increasing maturity and stability of my country's hot melt adhesive equipment, the selection and use of hot melt adhesive equipment suitable for the specific conditions of each furniture factory can not only improve the quality and grade of furniture, but also improve production efficiency, reduce the difficulty of panel repair, and reduce the labor intensity of workers.
Features
1. The solid content is 100%, with gap filling properties, avoiding edge curling, bubbles and cracking, and causing deformation, dislocation and shrinkage of the adhered parts. Because there is no solvent, the moisture content of the wood does not change, and there is no risk of fire or poisoning.
2. Fast bonding, the interval between gluing and bonding is only a few seconds, the saw head and trimming can be completed within 24 seconds, and no drying time is required. It can be used for continuous and automated wood bonding production lines, greatly improving production efficiency and saving factory costs.
3. Wide range of uses, suitable for bonding various materials.
4. It can be bonded several times, that is, the hot melt adhesive applied to the wood can be reheated for secondary bonding when it does not meet the requirements due to cooling and solidification.
Textiles
Hot melt adhesive is the most commonly used type of adhesive in textiles, especially clothing processing. It is widely used for bonding non-woven fabrics, carpet seams, clothing linings, zippers, etc. Hot melt adhesives used in the textile industry must have good bonding strength, excellent softness, and water/dry cleaning resistance. In addition, since most fabrics are steam-treated during the shaping process, the adhesive is required to be resistant to high-temperature steam, with a softening point higher than 115°C and an appropriate degree of crystallinity to improve the thermal stability of the adhesive. For example, with polyamide as the matrix, the lower limit content is 45% (mass fraction). For fiber fabrics with excellent softness, the hot melt adhesive is required to have a lower processing viscosity.
① Hot melt adhesive for fabric pasting
Replacing sewing with bonding can greatly reduce the labor intensity of clothing making, and the clothes made are fine, fit, strong and firm. The hot melt adhesives used for fabric pasting mainly include polyamide, polyurethane and polyurethane.
② Hot melt adhesive for lining processing
The bonding lining is made by evenly spreading hot melt adhesive on the surface of the fabric. When in use, cut the bonding lining into the required shape and size, and heat-press the side coated with hot melt adhesive to the back of other fabric materials (fabrics). It is lined in the inner layer of clothing and serves as the skeleton of clothing, which simplifies the processing technology and time of clothing, making the clothing light, beautiful, comfortable, shape-keeping, washable, and wear-resistant.

The general requirements for hot melt adhesive in lining processing are colorless and odorless, soft texture, fast bonding, dry and wet cleaning resistance, adhesive that does not affect the fabric, and light resistance. A variety of hot melt adhesives can be used for lining processing, and almost all types of hot melt adhesives can be used. The most commonly used ones are ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) hot melt adhesive, polyamide hot melt adhesive and high-pressure polyethylene (HDPE) hot melt adhesive powder, and the hot melt adhesives and processing methods used for different purposes are also different.
③ Hot melt adhesive for carpet backing adhesive
The basic materials of hot melt adhesive for carpet backing adhesive are mostly copolymers of ethylene and other olefin monomers, such as ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, ethylene acrylate copolymer, etc. In most cases, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EvA) is used.
