On June 19, DNP announced that the 2,500-width high-performance optical film processing equipment at the Mihara Millimeter Factory in Hiroshima Prefecture will be officially put into production in September. The commissioning of the second wide-format processing equipment is aimed at responding to market and consumer demand, and the production capacity is expected to increase by more than 15%. With this expansion, DNP will meet the demand for high-performance optical films for 65-inch large-screen TVs (1436.4 mm wide × 809.0 mm high). It is expected that the annual compound growth rate (CAGR) of such large-screen products (by area) will reach about 6% between 2025 and 2030.

In recent years, as TV screens have become larger, TVs larger than 65 inches have become mainstream, and polarizer manufacturers are also expanding their production lines to cope with this trend. Therefore, in the medium and long term, there is a concern about the shortage of functional optical films for large-size TVs. This time, DNP will further increase its production capacity through the commissioning of a new wide-width coating device, thereby providing a stable supply of high-performance optical films.
